  • With any level of school membership (silver, gold, or platinum) all staff members will be given access to the EKC Community. This allows teachers to find the courses and resources that meet their needs.

  • Yes! We frequently work with secondary schools to explore best practices in literacy curriculum and instruction. Disciplinary literacy is a particular area we work in with many secondary schools.

  • Our strategists are regularly creating new courses and resources to share with the EKC Community. We are lifelong learners, continually reading and learning about the latest in literacy research. Our courses and resources are added to frequently. Additionally, the chat rooms are active hubs of conversation about literacy happenings around the world.

  • We are firm believers in research-based practices. All the literacy resources and courses we provide are rooted in research, and we include sources of information throughout our programs.

  • Yes! There are many ways you could use our resources as a whole staff or department. Here are just a few ideas to get you thinking:

    Kick-off a staff meeting with one of our “Small Bites” videos to introduce an idea for discussion and exploration as a whole group

    Teaching teams or departments could complete one of the asynchronous courses together and then discuss ways the information could inform practice at your school

    Identify a collective “problem of practice” at your school and then dive into the EKC Community to select courses, resources, or Padlets for a group to explore in search of helpful tools to guide decision making

    Select a literacy planning tool from our collection of planners and have a team of teachers try implementing it
